As our first post to our blog, we wanted to welcome you to our site. At Thyrasec, we’re passionate about creating a better more secure world by leveraging our expertise in cybersecurity.
As more and more wireless products are launching every year, the job of making sure they’re secure is only getting more critical. From life saving medical devices to smartphone accessories that make our lives better, we’ve seen over the last few years attacks which have a real impact on people and life. The risk is evermore present.
For us, wireless represents the ultimate attack surface – an attacker located at a safe distance can wreck havoc on products and people. The attack is all but invisible. Even worse, many devices are wireless only, such as implantable medical devices and very personal items that track us wherever we go. People expect connectivity in their devices, but they also want the peace of mind that they’re secure.
Wireless has also become an entry point into systems previously hardened. For example, Cisco routers with TI Bluetooth chipsets, where there’s significant care taken to protect against intrusion via the wired interfaces, could be breached by Bluetooth.
